Painting, drawing and printmaking and there is scope for sculpture should your interest lie in this area. You will record in a wide range of materials and techniques whilst exploring visual language. There is a huge emphasis on research and you will develop resources looking at contextual work from contemporary and historical sources. You will explore your own personal responses to themes and be encouraged to present your work creatively. We display work from our students prominently in our gallery and visitors are always impressed with the quality of the work. Your coursework involves investigating a personalised theme through the medium of fine art. You will research, investigate and experiment with art techniques and processes in order to create outcomes that realise your creative intentions. Demonstrating an understanding of the work of other artists, craftspeople and designers is crucial at Outwood and underpins everything we do. Our London gallery experience brings you face to face with the artists who matter. Your Externally Set Assignment (ESA) in year 13 involves you investigating a theme set by the exam board. The ESA gives you the opportunity to build on the learning from your coursework and finishes with a 15 hour period of independent work during which you will produce your final ESA outcomes.
